Naga Munchetty is a British television presenter, newsreader and journalist who regularly presents BBC Breakfast and Newsnight. She began her career as a journalist on the City Pages for the London Evening Standard alongside working on the business section of The Observer.

After establishing herself in journalism and working in it for some time, Naga then began her television career for Reuters Financial Television as a reporter. Shortly after this, she got a job for CNBC Europe as senior producer, admittedly a big step up from her previous job. From there, Naga then went on to be a business producer for Channel 4 News and a presenter.

With a clear passion for television and media, Naga joined Working Lunch after the show was re-vamped in October of 2008 and stayed with the programme until it was cancelled in July of 2010. Munchetty has hosted Radio 4’s Money Box and also reports from the City for BBC News, gauging the reaction to breaking financial stories such as the Budget, and the Pre-Budget report. She added: “They became nurses, and both worked incredibly hard, usually on the night shift. But I remember mum always being home to cook for us, feed us and clean. She would vacuum every single day. When I think about how some families operate now — with helpers, cleaners, gardeners — my parents didn’t have any of that. They just did it all on their own.”
