Mark Hanretty is a professional skater choreographer and ice dancer. In 2021, he commentated on the ISU World Figure Skating Championships for the ISU live stream. He is known for his appearances on ITV’s Dancing on Ice show. The Scottish started figure skating in 1995 but later switched to ice dancing in 2004. After the switch, he competed with Lauren Bradshaw as his partner.

At the end of December 2005, Hanretty and his then partner Christina Chitwood, an American ice dancer announced their partnership. After a few months, the couple started training together but briefly stopped after his partner contracted mononucleosis (glandular fever). In January 2007, the couple made their debut in the British Championships at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham, England, where they finished in 7th place.

In January 2008, they won their first medal, a bronze at the 2008 British Championships at IceSheffield in Sheffield. At the end of 2008, the National Ice Skating Association (NISA) selected them to join the Great Britain Squad.
