Maja Stark is a Swedish professional golfer on the Ladies European Tour (LET). As an amateur, Stark recorded several victories including; the 2013 Skandia Tour Distrikt #2, the Skandia Tour Regional #6, and the Skandia Distrikt Skåne Final. In 2015 she won the Skandia Tour Riks #1, Skandia Tour Elit #2, and Skandia Tour Riks #4 while in 2016 she won the Wake Up Skurup! Open on the Futures Series. Stark also earned victory at the 2017 Skandia Tour Elit #1 and the 2020 Hurricane Invitational. In 2021 she won the Heroes Ladies Intercollegiate and the Mountain View Collegiate.
She also made amateur team appearances including; at the European Girls’ Team Championship representing Sweden in 2016, and won it in 2017. She was part of the Swedish winning team at the 2018,2019, and 2020 at the European Ladies’ Team Championship and also in 2021. In 2017, she represented Europe at the Junior Solheim Cup and played at the Arnold Palmer Cup representing the International team in 2020 which they won.
Stark turned professional in August 2021 and played on the Ladies European Tour and the LET Access Series by invitations. She earned her first professional victory on the LET Access Series on August 23, 2021, at the PGA Championship by Trelleborgs Kommun. She defeated English Lily May Humphreys by one stroke. On September 5, 2021, she earned her first LET Tour victory at the Kristianstad Ladies Open, she defeated Sweden Linn Grant by 4 strokes. She also secured her LET membership card.
Stark attends Oklahoma State University and played her collegiate golf with the Oklahoma State Cowgirls. During her Sophomore Season, Stark was named a first-team All-American by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association. She also earned Big 12 Golfer of the Year honors becoming the first Cowgirl golfer since Julie Yang in 2014 to earn this award. Stark helped the Cowgirls to reach the NCAA Championship final match for the first time in program history.
