Originally from Swansea, proud Welshman Leighton has always done things his own way, ignoring anyone that told him ‘boys don’t bake’! He grew up playing the organ at his local church. Leighton is one of the bakers competing in the 16th season of The Great British Bake Off on Channel 4. The bakers will be competing against each other in the famous baking tent, under the watchful eyes of judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, alongside presnters Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding.
Leighton said he was “grinning like the Cheshire cat for days” after finding out he had been cast on Bake Off. “To be inside that tent, baking where so many others had baked before… it was a moment I’ll never forget. My family in Wales and the USA are so very proud of me because we’re all obsessed with the Bake Off,” he added.
Leighton wrote on Instagram: “Well this has certainly been the most challenging project yet. I’m just a weekend baker who loves cakes, bread and pastry and just tries hard. I’ve had the best journey so far. The Great British Bake Off Series 16. #gbbo #britishbakeoff.”
