Lauren Zima is an American actress director reporter and journalist. Zima currently serves as a senior producer and host at Entertainment Tonight. She is well known for Box Elder (2008), Disaster Date (2009), and Lost & Found (2011). Zima’s coverage for Entertainment Tonight includes hosting The Bachelor, Roses, and Rosé, a comedic recap show that is available on YouTube. In 2009, Zima appeared on MTV’s Disaster Date. She was hired by Entertainment Tonight in 2015 after a brief stint at Newsy, where she served as a creative director and host.
Born and raised in Elgin, Illinois, she attended Elgin High School. Zima went on to study journalism at the University of Missouri, in Columbia, Missouri. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in magazine journalism and a master’s degree in media convergence and broadcast journalism. At the University of Missouri, Zima was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and served as its vice-president. She was also the vice-president of the Journalism Scholars Association and vice-president of the Graduate Students Organization and was named in the top 39 seniors at Missouri.
While in college, Zima was part of the MU improv troupe, Comedy War, and performed weekly for four years. She was also skit director at her sorority.
In 2010, Zima moved to Los Angeles, where she studied and performed with the Uptight Citizens Brigade, an improv comedy troupe at the iO West Theatre, and The Groundlings.
