Lana Lagomarsini is a private chef and owner of Lana Cooks, a private chef business based in New York City. She is a contestant on Season 22 of Bravo’s “Top Chef.” She competed on the first season of the Netflix culinary competition, Pressure Cooker, and has also been on Food Network’s Chopped.

Bronx native Lana began her culinary journey while studying journalism at Northeastern University where she eventually traded her medium of expression from words to flavorful dishes.

A graduate of Northeastern and the Culinary Institute of America, Lana worked at Gramercy Tavern and in Michelin-starred kitchens, including Restaurant Daniel and Momofuku Ko. She spent a month apprenticing under renowned Argentinian chef Francis Mallmann learning the art of open-fire cooking on his island in Patagonia.

Recognized within her community, Lana was inducted into the Prestigious Dames d’ Escoffier International in 2023 as well as being honored by her peers by winning a culinarian award from Black Women in Food Awards by Dine Diaspora. She also was recently a part of the summer cohort for the James Beard Foundation’s Chef Boot Camp for Policy and Advocacy.

Recently, Lana has been exploring her voice as a woman of color, organizing pop-ups of all kinds. She describes her cuisine as soul food through a fine-dining lens and is passionate about learning more about the connection between food throughout the African diaspora and its influence on staple foods in America.

For Season 22, the competitors have the chance to win $250,000 provided by Saratoga Spring Water and a $125,000 flight credit to spend on travel with Delta Air Lines. Plus, the winner will get a feature in Food & Wine Magazine and make an appearance at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen.

The first-place finisher will also headline a dinner at the James Beard house in New York City and have the chance to present at The James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards in Chicago, Illinois. Also, cash prizes totaling $150,000 will be offered during each Quickfire Challenge, and at several Elimination Challenges.
