Lalla Hirayama is a Japanese-born South African television host, dancer, actress and also a model. She is best known for her current work as one of 5 hosts of the live celebrity news show V Entertainment on DSTV channel Vuzu as she is the longest serving host. Lalla is also a judge on the show SouthAfrica’s Got Talent .Moreover she hosts her show Lalla Land on M-net movies channel.
Lalla Hirayama was born in Hiratsuka in Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan. She is the only child to a Japanese mother and a white South African father of Jewish descent. In one of the interviews she said she was brought up in the old school typical Japanese way “think Samurais and Zen”.
She has previously often stated that she comes from a diverse background; Buddhism, Shinto, Judaism, Christianity and other belief systems and cultures. hen she as young, she spent her early years in Japan here she then moved to Australia and finally at the age of about six to South Africa.
When she got to South Africa, she began her primary education with Fairways Primary School in Sandton Joburg in the province of Gauteng. As a promising child, she began riding a horse and also took part in other athletics. This choice ended her up as Junior Horse Riding Champion in 1997. With her experience in dancing, she taught tap, hip hop, and modern dancing when she returned to Japan in 2001 at Kagoshima, Kagoshima Prefecture.
