Kyle Linden Webster is a restaurateur, bartender and husband of chef Naomi Pomeroy. He is the owner of Expatriate, a cocktail lounge in Northeast Portland. Pomeroy was known for her numerous restaurants around the Portland, Oregon, area and for being a contestant on “Top Chef Masters” in 2011.

Kyle started working as a bartender in a tavern in Clackamas. He then got a job at the original Noble Rot on 28th and Ankeny. In July 2013, Kyle opened his first solo project, Expatriate, with partner/wife Naomi Pomeroy.

Pomeroy, the chef-owner of Northeast Portland’s Beast restaurant, was named the Best Chef in the Northwest at the 2014 James Beard Awards. She thanked her daughter, her husband, her fellow nominees, including Nostrana’s Cathy Whims, and her staff, with a special mention for longtime right-hand-woman Mika Paredes, who left the restaurant in November 2014.

Renowned Portland bartender Kyle Linden Webster is the husband of Naomi Pomeroy, an award-winning chef who helped put Portland on the map as a culinary destination and starred on “Top Chef Masters”. Pomeroy died in an inner tubing accident on July 13, 2024, in Corvallis, Oregon. She was 49 years old.

Pomeroy drowned in the Willamette River near Corvallis after the group she was tubing with got caught on an exposed snag in the water, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. Pomeroy was pulled under the water and trapped by a paddle board leash attached to her, Captain Chris Duffitt said. The group had tied their inner tubes and paddle board together. Authorities said they safely recovered the other two people on the shore and transported them to a boat launch.
