Kye Whyte is a British male BMX racer. In 2021, he won a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics at the Ariake Urban Sports Park in Tokyo, Japan. He became the first BMX racer to win Team GB’s first-ever BMX medal at the Olympics. In October 2021, it was announced that Kye will participate in the fourteenth series of ITV’s Dancing on Ice. The Olympics medallist will be partnering with Hong Kong’s figure skater, Tippy Packard.
Kye started riding BMX at the age of three at Brixton BMX Club in Brockwell Park, London. He later joined Peckham BMX Club which was co-founded by his father. In 2018, he won a silver medal at a European championship in Glasgow and finished 5th at the 2019 UCI BMX World Championships in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium. On June 20, 2021, Kye was selected to join Team G.B for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, he went on to win a silver medal and made history by winning Team GB’s first-ever BMX medal at the Olympics.

Who are Kye Whyte’s Parents? His parents are Tracey hill and Nigel Whyte. His father Nigel was a coach and trains him to race, he also co-founded Peckham BMX Club where his sons trained at. Kye Whyte’s mother, Hill served as the secretary at the Peckham BMX Club. In September 2021, he announced that his mother was very ill and that she had been diagnosed with leukemia, Kye posted, “Hi guys, This is my mum Tracey hill she birthed me raised me and looked after me well. Right now she is very ill and has been diagnosed with leukaemia I want to ask everyone to pray and have her in your hearts just one thing I’ll beg for anyone to do is just have my mum in your hearts and prayers thank you let’s fight mum”

He has two brothers, Daniel and Tre Whyte who also attended Peckham BMX Club. His brother, Tre is a former British BMX rider. In 2014, Tre won a bronze medal in the 2014 UCI BMX World Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands after having to self-fund his attendance due to not being named by the British Cycling World Championship team. He retired from BMX racing in 2020 and started scooter racing.
