Kezia Istonia (LadyK) is a singer, songwriter, and performer from Montgomery, Alabama. She has recorded and released several solo albums and many singles. Istonia is a contestant on the 20th season of American Idol. She auditioned for the show and earned a golden ticket to Hollywood for The twentieth season of the American reality singing competition show, American Idol. The twentieth series of American Idol started airing on February 27, 2022, on the ABC television network.

Istonia has been singing from an early age. At the age of 8, she had her first recording feature. According to her official website, LadyK has performed at several iconic stages and events including opening up the NBA All-Star weekend show in 2017, in New Orleans, where renowned American artists such as Migos, DJ KHALID, Gucci Mane, and Ralo were the headlining acts. It gave me more purpose, like, I know I don’t want my mom to have to only think about this. I don’t want that to be the only significant thing in our life. So I’m here to honor him and just make my family proud, give us something to be excited about after everything we’ve been through. … It’s a blessing to be here, honestly.” She added.

After enduring the tragic loss of her brother, Istonia then dedicated much of her pain into a single dedicated to her brother called, “Poppy’s Law” Speaking about her brother’s death and suicide, LadyK said, “I knew that we all had it hard, but at some point, it was all just too much for my brother. My brother died by suicide and that was one of the hardest things that my family ever had to go through. It was hard to decide if paying rent was going to come first, because we needed somewhere to live, or paying for a funeral because we don’t have our brother anymore.”
