Kaz Woods is a Welsh ceramic artist and a contestant on The Great Pottery Throw Down 2026. She is the founder of Kaz Woods Pottery, a handcrafted pottery and ceramics business based in South Wales.
Kaz is currently studying for a BA in Ceramics. Speaking about her work, Kaz said: “Working primarily in clay, I specialise in sculptures that explore the human form, its movement, and emotion. I also love bringing animals and nature to life through my work, creating characterful pieces that celebrate the connection we share with the natural world.
“Alongside sculpture, I enjoy experimenting with a wide variety of pottery styles, always pushing my craft in new and exciting directions.”

Kaz Woods, 62, is one of the potters on Series 9 of Channel 4’s The Great Pottery Throw Down, hosted by Siobhán McSweeney, alongside judges Keith Brymer Jones and Richard Miller.
“Still cant believe I was chosen to be one of series 9 Pottery Throwdown potters,” Kaz expressed her disbelief. “What an absolute blast.”
Speaking about her fellow potters in the show, Kaz said: “The best thing to come out of the Great Pottery Throwdown is the love that these 12 random souls have found for each other. My kith and kin, my clay family.”
