Maxwell Wiley is a judge of the New York County Supreme Court in New York, NY. He is an acting justice for the New York County Supreme Court, Criminal Term in the 1st Judicial District of New York, according to his biography on the New York Courts website. He was designated to the position by Chief Administrative Judge Jonathan Lippman in 2004.
Wiley is also a judge of the New York Court of Claims. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor George Pataki in 2003. He was subsequently reappointed by former Governor David Paterson in 2009 and former Governor Andrew Cuomo in 2019.
Wiley earned a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School. He was admitted to practice in New York in 1987 and Wisconsin in 1986.
