Joujou Saad Biography – Joujou Saad Wiki
Joujou Saad is a typewriter restorer and expert on BBC’s “The Repair Shop.” She is the co-owner of Mr & Mrs Vintage Typewriters, a typewriter restoration business, with her husband Walid Saad.
Until 2014, Joujou and Walid hadn’t touched a typewriter. Then Walid came across one by accident and the rest is history. In 2016, the British-Lebanese couple launched the typewriter restoration business. In 2018, Joujou and Walid were invited as typewriter guest experts on BBC’s “The Repair Shop.”
Subsequently, Netflix Productions asked them to restore three identical Glossy Imperial Good Companion Model 1 Typewriters for the movie “Mank,” an American biographical drama about screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz. Additionally, Joujou and Walid appeared on BBC One’s “Money for Nothing” with master upholsterer and TV presenter Jay Blades. They were also featured on a podcast on BBC World Service’s “Outlook” with Emily Webb, as well as in “The Simple Things” magazine.
Joujou and her husband restore and sell typewriters worldwide for between £150 and £3,600, depending on condition, typeface, colour, age and provenance. “Our typewriters have travelled all around the world, reaching places like Alaska, Brunei, Western Australia, Hong Kong, the UAE, and throughout the UK—from the southern borders up to the Shetland Islands,” the pair said. “They have also been shipped across Europe and to several American and Canadian states.”

Joujou Saad is a typewriter expert on BBC’s “The Repair Shop,” alongside her husband Walid Saad. In November 2018, Joujou and Walid were invited as typewriter guest experts to film an episode of The Repair Shop in the Weald & Downland Living Museum in Chichester. Their first project was the restoration of a Pre-War Corona 3 Typewriter.
