Josh Sills (born Joshua Matthew Sills) is an American football player. He was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He began his debut season as one of three undrafted rookies to earn an opening day roster spot alongside Reed Blankenship and Josh Jobe.

Sills appeared in only four snaps on special teams for the Eagles in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals. He’s listed as a backup right guard to Isaac Seumalo on Philadelphia’s depth chart.

Sills spent the first four years of his collegiate career at West Virginia (2016-19) and then transferred to Oklahoma State (2020-21). In total, he saw action in 52 career games, including 47 starts, between the two programs.

Sills was voted a team captain at Oklahoma State and started in 23 of his 25 games in two seasons with the Cowboys, as well as earned first-team All-Big 12 honors as a senior in 2021. He also garnered first-team all-conference recognition following his junior campaign in 2020, when he started all 11 games and played several OL positions (LG, LT and RT).

He opened 24 of his 27 career games at West Virginia and tabbed a second-team All-Big 12 selection as a sophomore in 2018.

Sills prepped at Meadowbrook (OH) High School, where he was a two-year starter at guard and also handled kicking and punting duties. He set the school single-season (27) and career (69) records for extra points. He was selected to the North-South All-Star Game in 2016 and named to the Associated Press All-Ohio Division IV First Team in 2015.

Sills studied agribusiness management in college. Speaking about his first job, he said: “I worked with my high school agriculture teacher on his farm. I planted corn, fed cows, vaccinated cows, artificially inseminated cows. Normal everyday farm stuff.”

Josh Sills Indictment

Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Josh Sills was indicted on one count of rape and one count of kidnapping in Ohio on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, the state’s attorney general announced.

Sills was indicted on one count of rape and one count of kidnapping, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Guernsey County Sheriff Jeffrey D. Paden said in a news release. Both charges are first-degree felonies.

The indictment stems from an incident in December 2019. Sills allegedly “engaged in sexual activity that was not consensual and held a victim against her will,” officials said. The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation after the alleged crime was immediately reported.

Sills was issued a summons to appear in Guernsey County Common Pleas Court at 1 p.m. ET on Feb. 16.

“The organization is aware of the legal matter involving Josh Sills. We have been in communication with the league office and are in the process of gathering more information. We have no further comment at this time,” the Eagles said in a statement.

The NFL also released a statement on the indictment.

“The National Football League placed Philadelphia Eagles’ Josh Sills on the Commissioner Exempt List following today’s indictment by a grand jury in Ohio. Sills may not participate in practices and games or travel with the team while on the Commissioner Exempt List. The matter will be reviewed under the NFL’s personal conduct policy.”

According to the police report obtained by ESPN, an officer was dispatched to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center emergency room in Cambridge, Ohio, on Dec. 5, 2019, to take a report of a sexual assault.

According to the woman’s account, a man dropped her and her cousin off at her cousin’s place, where she was staying. After her cousin got out of the vehicle, “the male grabbed her by the arm and pulled her back into the truck.” The male grabbed her by her ponytail and tried to kiss her, the report said, and she repeatedly told him to stop, but he continued. Once her friend was inside the home, the account continues, the man then tried to take off her pants and kept “touching me down there.” She also alleged the man forced her to have oral $&% with him.
