Jamie Li is an award-winning cake designer, professional baker and contestant on Spring Baking Championship 2025. She is the owner of Cake By Jamie Li, a bespoke cake studio based in the San Francisco, Bay Area specializing in cake designs for life’s most important moments from weddings and milestone celebrations to corporate galas and VIP events.
Jamie has been baking professionally since 2020, following a 20 year career in sales and beauty marketing and a battle with breast cancer while pregnant with her first child. While battling cancer, she took up cake baking as a hobby.
After giving birth and undergoing chemotherapy and surgery, she decided to sharpen her skills by enrolling in a Cakes and Composition course at the San Francisco Baking Institute. As buzz grew on the Instagram account highlighting her creations, people began ordering her cakes for weddings, parties and corporate events. In 2024, she won the concept cake of the year award at the National Pastry Conference.
Jamie has been featured on HBO Max, Food Network, and KQED. In 2021 she competed on HBO Max’s baking show Baketopia, hosted by YouTuber Rosanna Pansino. Her work has appeared in publications like Brides, Style Me Pretty, Luxury Trending, and California Wedding Day.
She previously worked as a makeup artist and corporate cosmetic executive by day at organizations like Christian Dior, Laura Mercier, and Shiseido. Jamie Li Spring Baking Championship
San Mateo baker Jamie Li is a contestant on season 11 of Food Network’s “Spring Baking Championship.” When Food Network approached her about competing, she was initially nervous about saying yes. Then, she thought, “Why not? Life is fleeting.”
She announced the news on Instagram, writing: “I feel like I’ve lived so many different lives, each one leading me somewhere unexpected. But never did I imagine that my path would take me here—standing among some of the most talented bakers and pastry chefs, doing what I love, and turning sugar into art.
“Cake design wasn’t always in the plan, but somehow, it became my greatest passion. And now, finding myself on this stage, competing on Spring Baking Championship—it still feels unreal.
“A huge shoutout to my fellow bakers who have built friendships that will last a lifetime. I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything!”
Jamie is not the only Northern Californian competing on season 11 Spring Baking Championship: Paul Feybesse, of Tarts de Feybesse fame, who lives in Vallejo, and Julian Perrigo-Jimenez of Folsom are also on the season roster.

Professional baker Jamie Li is a breast cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer while 12 weeks pregnant with her first child. After giving birth, she underwent chemotherapy and surgery. She is now cancer-free.
