Suzy Welch born Suzanne Spring is the wife of Jack Welch, former chairman and the chief executive of General Electric. Jack was General Electric’s chairman and chief executive from 1981 to 2001.
Suzy is the co-founder of the Jack Welch Management Institute, business journalist, television commentator, best-selling author and public speaker.
She is the author of the New York Times bestseller 10-10-10: A Life Transforming Idea. Along with her husband Jack Welch, she is also the author of the international best-sellers, Winning and The Real Life MBA. Suzy and Jack Welch have also written business columns for several publications, including Business Week, the New York Times Syndicate, and Fortune magazine.
Suzy received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University in 1981 before joining The Miami Herald as a reporter. She left daily journalism to attend Harvard Business School, where she graduated as a Baker Scholar in 1988. After working as a management consultant at Bain & Co. for several years, Suzy joined the Harvard Business Review in 1995 and was named editor-in-chief in 2001. She left the business review in April 2002.
