Elizabeth Scherer is a judge of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court in Broward County, Florida. She was appointed as a judge of the 17th Judicial Circuit Court in December 2012 by then-Gov. Rick Scott, a member of the Republican party, to replace retired Judge David Krathen. She has since been elected to the bench twice.

Before she became a judge in December 2012, Scherer had previously spent more than a decade as a prosecutor in the State Attorney’s Office, including six in the Career Criminal Trial Unit.
