She is also known for being the daughter of the late actor Brian Dennehy who was an American actor of film, stage, and television. He once was a winner of a Golden Globe, two Tony Awards and he received six Primetime Emmy Award nominations. He was initially recognized when he took the acting role as Sheriff Will Teasle in First Blood. The actor died on April 15, 2020, at his home in New Haven, Connecticut, United States reportedly of natural causes at the age of 81. She confirmed her father’s death on Twitter.
She trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and got her start in 1988 when she appeared as Christina “Blake” Lindsey in the TV series drama Guiding Light. She continued to appear in the series Star Trek: The Next Generation in the two-part episode “The Best of Both Worlds” as Lt. Commander Shelby. In 2017, Den of Geek ranked Dennehy’s role as Lt.
