Dustin Diamond Biography – Dustin Diamond Wiki

Dustin Diamond (born Dustin Neil Diamond) was an American actor, director, stand-up comedian, and musician. He was best known for playing Samuel “Screech” Powers on Saved by the Bell, which aired for four seasons between 1989 and 1993 on NBC.

Diamond began doing stand up comedy after the end of Saved by the Bell. He was also featured on a number of game and reality shows including The Weakest Link, and Celebrity Boxing 2. He has also made several appearances in films, including Made (2001), Pauly Shore Is Dead (2003), Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star (2003), Tetherball: The Movie (2010), All Wifed Out (2012), and College Fright Night (2014) and executive produced a 2014 Lifetime telefilm, The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story.

In 2014, he was sentenced to four months in prison for allegedly stabbing a fellow patron in a scuffle at a Wisconsin bar on Christmas Day; he was released a month early. He was arrested again in May 2016 for violating the terms of his probation. He later told his former SBTB co-star-turned Extra TV host Mario Lopez of jail, “It’s not like what you see on TV, I’ll tell you that. It’s pretty daunting, pretty scary going into that environment.”

“We are aware that Dustin is not considered reputable by most. He’s had a history of mishaps, of unfortunate events. We want the public to understand that he was not intentionally malevolent,” the actor’s agent, Roger Paul, said in a statement. “He — much like the rest of those who act out and behave poorly — had undergone a great deal of turmoil and heartache. His actions, though rebukeable, stemmed from loss and the lack of knowledge on how to process that pain properly. In actuality, Dustin was a humorous and high-spirited individual whose greatest passion was to make others laugh. He was able to sense and feel other peoples’ emotions to such a length that he was able to feel them too — a strength and a flaw, all in one.”

For that, we are grateful.”

Before there was David and Donna there was Screech and Violet. Dustin was my first on-screen kiss. He welcomed me with open arms onto the set of Saved By the Bell. As one can imagine being the newbie on a hit show was overwhelming for a 14-year-old girl. He not only showed me around but made sure I was always ok. Such a young gentleman. He was kind, smart, and always making everyone laugh. He was a great scene partner. He was a really good guy. I’m sad after the show we never had much contact aside from occasionally running into each other at events. I’m glad he’s out of pain. He’s an icon to me professionally and personally. RIP Samuel love, your Violet ❤️”
