Dean Franklin is an entrepreneur and contestant on The Apprentice 2025. He is the co-owner of ADL Air Conditioning Ltd, an award-winning air conditioning business based in London and Essex. He set up the business during the pandemic and won the Best Tradesperson of the Year award in 2022-23.
Speaking about his biggest business success to date, Dean told the BBC: “My biggest business success to date is my current air conditioning company. We are an award-winning company winning the Best Tradesperson of the Year award in 2022-23. We have an incredible reputation within the industry and outstanding reviews on our platforms.”
When asked about his business plan, he said: “My business plan is to grow and expand my current business, it’s an air conditioning company that supplies and installs air conditioning units in homes or commercial properties.”

The Apprentice 2025 candidates are battling it out for the opportunity of a lifetime – to win Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment and mentorship.
When asked why he deserves Lord Sugar’s investment, he said: “I honestly believe me and Lord Sugar are very similar. I can relate to a lot of things he has said and done in the past. He is very passionate about science and electronics and that’s pretty much what air conditioning is, this is what he has done in his businesses and it’s what he knows. This is right up his street. I’m just hoping he can show me the ropes and together we can get to the next level.”
When asked about his motivations behind applying for the show, Dean said: “I’ve always wanted to put myself in uncomfortable situations and get comfortable with being uncomfortable. I’ve always wanted to test myself.
“I’ve always watched the show and thought I could do better and I guess now is the time to prove it. Time to step up and give it a go because that’s what I want to show my kids.”
Dean is one of the four Essex candidates featured on the reality show this year. The others include Online Gift Store owner Emma Rothwell, virtual assistant company owner Chisola Chitambala and Workwear Brand owner Liam Snellin.
