David Birtwistle is a 28-year-old fitness and nutrition coach. He is one of the contestants on Netflix’s dating show, Too Hot to Handle. He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Endeavour Life LTD, a performance coaching company. He is also a Nike Training ambassador, according to his Instagram bio.
He is an ex semi-pro Rugby player having been part of Wasps Rugby Club before he went on to study at St Mary’s University where he studied Bachelor’s degree in Strength and Conditioning Science.

For most of my twenties I kept everyone at arms length, especially women. . I even recall when a girl I had a casual relationship with, called me out on it when we were in bed and I was so scared she could see through me, that I immediately left. . I wasn’t ready to deal with the emotional stuff. I didn’t know how to work through it and I did what almost all men do… I pushed it really far down, ignored it and operated on a completely superficial level . I had a lot of fun, I experienced many things, gained loads of perspective on life and it shaped me into the man I am now. . I wouldn’t change that . But I had so much pain from an old relationship that was left unprocessed, meaning I had no trust, no desire for depth and no ability to be vulnerable. . It’s only been in the past 18 months that this has changed. And it only changed from talking to my close friends and family more openly. . As men we are not taught how to deal with our emotions, we don’t talk about our problems and society tells us to just get on with it. . As a result, it’s taken me 9 years to be in a place where I am fully open to trust, love and grow with someone. .
