Christopher “Chris” Bavin is a TV presenter and cook book author. He co-founded his retail business “The Naked Grocer’, and has since gone onto TV success fronting a range of shows on the BBC, including BBC One’s Eat Well for Less with Greg Wallace. He has also presented Tomorrow’s Food, The Truth About Meat, Food: Truth or Scare and Shop Well for the Planet.
Chris is a regular reporter for BBC’s The One Show and has presented several consumer and property based formats for the BBC including Wanted: A Simple Life and Escape to the Country. He has also presented two series of Britain in Bloom and is a regular feature on the BBC’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show coverage. He also became a TV judge in 2018 when he appeared on Britain’s Best Home Cook with Mary Berry and Dan Doherty.
Chris opened The Naked Grocer in Walton in 2009 and ran it with his wife and two sisters. The business won the title of ‘National Independent Retailer of the Year’ twice, and earned Elmbridge’s ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Community Award’ in 2013.
He is also a published author, with two cookbooks to his name. His first, ‘Good Food Sorted’ was published by DK books in March 2019. His second, Fakeaway was published in January 2020.
