Charlaine F. Olmedo is a Judge of the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles. She is currently assigned to complex criminal/high security/long cause criminal court. She was appointed to the bench by former governor of California Gray Davis (Democratic Party) in 2002.
Judge Olmedo is a graduate of Beverly Hills High School in Beverly Hills, CA. She received her B.S. Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1986 and earned her J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in 1989. She was admitted to the California Bar in 1989.
Judge Olmedo joined the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office in 1989 as a deputy district attorney in the Hardcore Gang Unit. She left the D.A.’s office in 1994 to become a prosecutor for the U.S. Justice Department.
