Bridget Bennett Biography – Bridget Bennett Wiki

Bridget Bennett is an American broadcast journalist and reporter who works for the KELOLAND news team as the evening anchor. She joined the team in December 2019. She began her broadcast career in Sioux Falls in 2012 and moved to Sioux City in 2018 to become the evening anchor at KCAU 9 News before coming back to KELOLAND. According to her LinkedIn profile, she worked as a reporter at KSFY TV Sioux Falls, South Dakota from 2012 to 2018. Prior to that, she had been at SMU TV where she did reporting, broadcast writing, anchoring, directing, running studio cameras, and producing from August 2009 to April 2012. She also was an intern at KTVT CBS 11 from May 2011 to December 2011, a period of eight months where she helped in production, reporting, photography, directing among other roles granted to her.

As a student she was the news director at Southern Methodist University Daily Campus where she was the manager Manager of Southern Methodist University-TV’s 6 is daily broadcast, helped students with all production roles. I also manage a group of video editors and video content on smudailycampus.com. She was also a staff writer at Southern Methodist University Daily Mustang from December 2010 – May 2011 where she assisted in shooting videos and edited video packages, look-lives, and other multi-media formats for online. She also worked at Gripper and Gaffer by helping in shooting an episode. She was also a public relations and development intern at ExxonMobilCSJP at Girls Incorporated from June 2010 – August 2010 and helped to compose developmental texts, event planning, grant applications, and donor relations.

Throughout her broadcast career, she has been awarded several Midwest Regional Emmys for producing, anchoring, and reporting. She has also received several other regional news awards including Edward R. Murrow, Eric Sevareid, and AP News. Although she loved learning from some wonderful journalists in Dallas, she was thrilled to pursue her career in broadcast journalism back home in the upper Midwest.

She went to school at Ellendale High School, and she wrote stories for the local county newspaper all through high school and got her first taste of broadcast news job shadowing in Fargo, North Dakota. She graduated summa cum laude with degrees in journalism and advertising from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
