Braden Smith is an American football offensive tackle for the Indianapolis Colts of The National Football League (NFL). Smith is from Olathe, Kansas, he attended Olathe South High School, where he was a two-way lineman on the football varsity. During his senior season, Smith was credited with 82 pancake blocks on offense, 59 tackles on defense. ESPN Regarded him as a four-star recruit and was ranked as the No. 9 offensive guard prospect in the class of 2014. In spite of several offers from different teams such as Alabama, Texas A&M, Georgia, and Notre Dame, Smith decided to play for Auburn University on May 27, 2014.
During the first year of his college career, Smith played in 12 games. He played right guard and was named Second-team All-SEC, during his second year’s season. He was awarded the All-America honors in both 2017 and 2016, and won the SEC Jacobs Blocking Trophy, given to the conference’s best blocker in 2017. Smith was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round, 37th overall, of the 2018 NFL Draft. On December 25, 2020, he was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list by the team.
