Chandler Powell is a former professional wakeboarder. According to Chandler Powell’s bio on his website, he first discovered wakeboarding when he was 12 years old. After picking up the sport, he spent nearly every day at the cable park around the corner from his Florida home. By the age of 15, he was competing professionally.
According to Country Living, and earned several sponsorships that helped him compete around the world. However, it seemed he gave it up in 2016, as he hasn’t competed since then.
Currently, Chandler works at the Australia Zoo in Queensland with Bindi. He’s also an active member of the Wildlife Warriors program, which was founded by Steve and Terri Irwin in 2002.
After graduating high school, the Southern native moved to Orlando where he attended the University of Central Florida majoring in Marketing with a minor in International Business.

Today we celebrated life and revelled in every beautiful moment we shared together in our Australia Zoo gardens. Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell were engaged on July 24, 2019. Irwin shared the news of their engagement on social media, posting two photos of herself with her longtime love on Twitter. Irwin and Powell first met in November 2013 when he was in her native Australia for a professional wakeboarding competition and decided to stop by the Australia Zoo, where the Irwin family lives and works.
