Bill Rolls is a ceramic artist and a contestant on The Great Pottery Throw Down 2026. He is the founder of Bill Rolls Ceramics, a mocha diffused pottery and dog sculpture business based in Herefordshire. He is also a volunteer teaching assistant.
Bill has been interested in ceramics since he was a teenager. He studied Contemporary Crafts at Hereford College specializing in ceramics for both his BA and MA degrees. After studying he settled in Hereford, establishing a studio there finding a natural home in the town’s vibrant creative community.
Bill has been making pottery for a couple of years under the tutorlidge of Melanie Brown with emphasis on form and Dylan Bowen with Slip finishing. He has also been taught by John Huggins who has helped him scale up his work to make large pots designed for use in the garden.
Exhibitions
Bill has showcased his work at various exhibitions. In 2023, he exhibited at the Malvern Spring, Bucks Art weeks, Three Choirs Gloucester, Malvern Autumn, Pots in the Pens Melton Mowbray, Winter Market Three Pools, Wye Valley Makers Market, and Christmas at the Silver Workshop.
In 2024, he exhibited at the Malvern Spring, Malvern Spring, Bucks Art Weeks, Three Choirs Worcester, Hereford Indie food Festival, Herefordshire Art Weeks, Malvern Autumn Show, Pots in the Pens Melton Mowbray, and the Ledbury Christmas Market. He also exhibited his work at the Dore Abbey Arts 2025.
