Arthur Mondale is an American journalist working as a broadcast journalist for WPTV NewsChannel 5 from Washington, District of Columbia, the D.C. Air National Guard. To add to his focus on military reports in the nation’s capital his assignments took him to West Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Virgin Islands. His 15-year military career – six of which were active duty- also included two-year tours to Texas, North Dakota, and Germany. He was also part of the first invasion into Iraq in 2003 as a member of the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing, Kirkuk Air Base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In other areas away from the military, he worked as a lifestyle television reporter in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (EATEL News 4), an investigative reporter in eastern North Carolina (WNCT-TV 9), and a morning reporter in North Carolina’s Piedmont Triad (WXII-TV 12). He went back to his hometown, Washington, D.C., in 2015 as a newspaper staff writer for Adams Publishing Group covering defense and military affairs. His work was recognized twice by the Maryland-Delaware-District of Columbia (MDDC) Press Association.
