Anthony James Kazmierczak Biography – Anthony James Kazmierczak Wiki
Anthony James Kazmierczak is the man who confronted and attacked Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar with an unknown substance during a Minneapolis town hall meeting on January 27, 2026. Kazmierczak allegedly charged at the congresswoman as she stood at the podium and called for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and sprayed an amber-colored, foul-smelling liquid from a syringe in her direction.
After Kazmierczak sprayed Omar, she chased him down before he was tackled and removed from the Urban League Twin Cities facility in Minneapolis. He was arrested by Minneapolis Police Department officers and booked into Hennepin County Jail for 3rd degree assault, according to a department spokesman.
Omar, a Democrat who became in 2019 the first Somali-American to serve in the US Congress, is a fierce critic of US President Donald Trump. She has recently targeted the president’s immigration crackdown in Minnesota, during which US citizens Renee Good and Alex Pretti were shot dead.
During the town hall she was hosting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Jan. 27, 2026, Omar said Trump’s key ally, Kristi Noem, whose Department of Homeland Security (DHS) oversees ICE, should “resign or face impeachment” over recent events in her state. It was after Omar’s comments about Noem that she was attacked.
The Office of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) issued the following statement following the incident at her town hall in North Minneapolis: “During her town hall, an agitator tried to attack the Congresswoman by spraying an unknown substance with a syringe. Security and the Minneapolis Police Department quickly apprehended the individual. He is now in custody. The Congresswoman is okay. She continued with her town hall because she doesn’t let bullies win.”
