Ann Marie LaFlamme is an American Emmy Award-Winning anchor and reporter. She worked as a reporter and anchor at WXMI-TV in Detroit from March 2015 until March 2020. She attended Notre Dame Preparatory High School, Pontiac, MI graduating in June 2005. She graduated from Central Michigan University in May 2009 with Bachelor of Applied Arts. While at CMU, she anchored and reported for News Central 34, an award winning student-run newscast. She was also named the broadcasting programs ‘Best Writer,’ was a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America, the Student Recreation Association and high jumped for the women’s track and field team. In July 2011, she graduated from Los Angeles Reporters Clinic, Los Angeles, CA.

Ann Marie LaFlamme was a Community Correspondent and interned at CBS/CW50 in Detroit. She also worked as an auto show presenter and as a freelance journalist. She joined 9&10 news team in August 2011. She left 9&10 news in March 2013 to join FOX 17.

LaFlamme worked at FOX 17 as an anchor and reporter. She hosted the weekly FOX 17 segment, “West Michigan’s Most Wanted,” and also produced the weekly “Forever Home” segment featuring foster children searching for families.

I may not understand their business decision but I trust and respect it and I know this will truly be for the best.

“While I’m sad to be leaving a job I worked so hard for, more than anything I want to thank all of you. I grew up watching WXYZ and it was my dream to someday be part of the station that inspired me to become a journalist. It has been a tremendous honor and privilege to be welcomed into your homes every morning on TV and for that, I am incredibly grateful. The memories I have made over the last five years will be forever cherished and I cannot even begin to describe how thankful I am for the love and support I have received from the community that I call home.

“Since starting my career as a reporter in Northern Michigan my priority has been to use this platform to help people and protect them. It has been a true blessing to hear you and share your stories, to give you a voice and power in locating fugitives in our neighborhoods and to shine light on important causes that affect our families and our community. She has been awarded Orchards Children’s Services Champions for Children Advocate Award for her work helping recruit foster parents and finding loving families for foster children in Michigan. She is also a volunteer with Special Olympics Michigan, The Miracle League, Humane Society.
