Anirban Chanda is a home baker and a contestant on The Great Australian Bake Off 2025. He is the owner of Another Whisk, a Sydney-based micro bakery sharing small-batch classic bakes with bold fusion of Indian, South Asian and native Australian flavours.

With roots in Bengal, ‘the dessert capital’ of India, Anirban has been a lifelong lover of desserts. He enjoys travelling the world with his partner and their trips focus on sampling international cuisine.

“My journey with baking and desserts began as a child, experimenting in the kitchen and falling in love with the process of creating something sweet and magical,” Anirban said. “Over time, I found inspiration in the diverse flavours of Indian cuisine, which eventually expanded to a global perspective as I traveled and explored different cultures.”

Anirban’s skills are entirely self-taught, and he has a passion for pâtisserie particularly delicately layered entremets. He enjoys combining flavours from all around in creative ways and aims to tell a story with every bake. He is also a travel photographer, blogger, and musician.

“I am part of The Great Australian Bake Off Season 8,” Anirban announced on Instagram. “A show I have loved for years. One that deepened my obsession with baking. And somehow — somehow, I ended up baking in that shed. From auditions to the Bake Off shed and everything after, it has been the craziest and most rewarding thing I have ever done.”

“I still cannot quite believe it happened. But it did. And I cannot wait for you to see what my baking buddies and I whisked up together.”

Anirban said his experience in the shed “pushed my creativity, deepened my love for storytelling through food, and connected me with an extraordinary community of bakers.
