Alfred Jackson Prince is the older half-brother to late music legend Prince and an heir to the musician’s estate.
Jackson was a US Air Force veteran who served in Vietnam. He was one of six heirs to Prince’s estate. The estate, believed to be worth upwards of $200 million, has been tied up in legal proceedings since Prince’s death in 2016.
Prince was found unresponsive at his Paisley Park home in Minnesota on April 21, 2016 after he suffered an accidental opioid overdose. He was 57. Since his passing, a compilation of demo recordings from the singer’s vaults titled ‘Originals’ as well as rare albums like ‘The Versace Experience (Prelude 2 Gold)’ have been made available.
Jackson was one of the first of Prince’s family members to speak about his death despite having not spoken to the singer for years prior. He told ET: “I miss my brother because my brother was everything in the world to me. He’s a legend, he really is.”
“He was so busy on the road because he had so many engagements with his music,’ he said. ‘So, he had to travel, all around the world. I always saw him on television, read the magazines, and said, “There’s my brother, Prince.” I was so happy he was making it for himself, I really was.”

Jackson was found unresponsive by his half-brother Bruce Jackson (not related to Prince) on Thursday morning August 29, 2019 at his Kansas City, Missouri home, according to TMZ.
Jackson’s death was confirmed in a Facebook post by Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson. She wrote, “This morning my older beloved brother Alfred passed on… Thank u for respecting our privacy at this time & 4 being so nice 2 him…Luv ~Tyka.”
