Alex Hayes is an artist, action sports athlete and social media influencer. He is an Ambassador for MINDSPO, a platform that endeavours to transform people’s lives through meditation, breath work, exercise and mindset courses. Another business venture of Alex’s is his part ownership in Vacay Seltzer, a new Australian-owned, low calorie Seltzer brand that is set to expand into international marketing such as Europe and USA in 2021.

Alex Hayes was one of the 14 Australian celebrities on Celebrity Apprentice Australia 2021. He was fired from Celebrity Apprentice Australia after the first challenge of the show. The 23-year-old claimed Lord Alan Sugar chose him to exit the series at the end of Episode 1 because of his young age.

He said in his exclusive exit interview with 9Entertainment: “Lord Alan Sugar fired me out of nowhere with no reason. Bit of an easy cop out because I’m young, but I thought that he would have understood that. He’s been in my position before looking up at a long future ahead in business and entrepreneurship and he just didn’t see that. I think it’s a huge mistake on his behalf.”

Alex put himself forward as a muse with the idea of creating a photographic artwork inspired by his concerns about the environment. Lord Sugar criticised the artwork, which Alex promised had buyers offering bids of $50,000 — but they fell through.

“The frame’s not worth two bob as far as I’m concerned… You don’t seem to know your art from your elbow,” Lord Sugar said in the Boardroom.

“I’m really disappointed I didn’t even get the chance to even raise money for my charity Batyr. They’re all about empowering people to tell stories and empower storytelling, so then other people can relate to their adversity and rise through it with their resilience,” ” Alex said.

On Celebrity Apprentice Australia Alex had chosen to support the Batyr foundation as a mental health ambassador, bringing awareness and education to young Australians on mental resilience. Alex has been supporting the Batyr charity for over three years through various fundraising initiatives such as, raising money for during his preparation to compete in the Molokai 2 Oahu World Paddle Championships (a 32-mile paddle in Hawaii) — where Alex and his teammate Fletcher Davies placed third in the world.

Mental Health is a cause very close to Alex’s heart, not only because of his own personal struggles growing up but also due to losing a good friend to suicide a few years ago.
