Alana Lowes is a TV presenter, food and travel writer, and MasterChef Australia contestant. She competed in Season 3 of MasterChef Australia and MasterChef Australia: Back To Win 2025. She is a presenter for Queensland Weekender TV on Channel 7 and Food Editor for Brisbane Quarter.
Alana first appeared on Season 3 of MasterChef Australia, catapulting her into the food industry and allowing her to travel the globe as a food, travel and lifestyle television presenter, travel writer, and magazine editor. The Melbourne native has also worked as a recipe developer, food stylist, photographer and even launched her own sauce range.
Following her time on MasterChef, she created the Alana’s Pantry food brand, launching a range of spicy chilli sauces from around the globe which sold nationally in 750 Coles Supermarkets. She also co-hosted the food and travel program ‘A Taste of Travel’ on Channel Ten for 3 series.
Before boarding on her MasterChef journey, Alana was a journalist who loved everything to do with food. Knowing she had what it takes to compete in MasterChef season 3, she applied and made it very far into the competition, making bomb dishes along the way.

Alana competed in Season 3 of MasterChef Australia, finishing in third place. She returned to the show for the 17th season – MasterChef Australia: Back To Win 2025 – for a second shot at the title of MasterChef.
“It’s been a while – 14 years in fact since I left the @masterchefau kitchen finishing in 3rd spot….BUT…I’m back and I’m back to win competing against these legends,” Alana wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the cast of MasterChef Australia: Back To Win 2025.
“I’m Back To Win MasterChef Australia,” Alana wrote in another Instagram post. “14 years ago Masterchef hurled me into this amazing food industry, a career I’d only dreamed of before. I’ve travelled the world as a TV Presenter, Food and Travel Writer and Magazine Editor, cooked alongside some incredible chefs, launched my own sauce range nationally into @colessupermarkets and have worked as a food stylist and photographer.”
She added: “I’m so excited to get back into the kitchen, dust off the whisk, cook up a storm and see where it could take me.”
