Al Conklin is a Meteorologist for WBTV, a CBS-affiliated television station. He began his forecasting career in radio at Accu-Weather in Pennsylvania and remained there for four years as a broadcast meteorologist. He began his television career at Wilmington, North Carolina’s WECT in 1989, as a Meteorologist and Environmental Reporter. After a two-year stint at WINK-TV in Fort Myers, Florida, and a year a WTVJ in Miami, Florida, he made his way back to the Carolinas and WBTV in April of 1993.
He has received notable awards for the work he has done on screen. He holds the AMS TV Seal of Approval and received an Emmy for Best Weathercast in the year 1997. He is a holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology, from the State University of New York.
