Adam Smith is the executive chef at Woven by Adam Smith at Coworth Park in the heart of the Berkshire countryside. He is a contestant on the Great British Menu 2024 on BBC Two.
Birmingham-born Adam won the Roux Scholarship in 2012 at the age of 24 and later did his stage under Yannick Alleno at Le Meurice in Paris.
Adam started his career working as a pot washer at his local restaurant at age 13 and soon fell in love with the atmosphere of the kitchen. After finishing catering college, he moved to London to work at the Ritz and ended up being there for 10 years – working his way up to executive Sous Chef under John Williams.
In 2016, Adam joined Coworth Park as executive chef and now leads a team across three sites. He gained a Michelin Star for his restaurant ‘Woven by Adam Smith’ after just six months of its opening.
On being awarded the restaurant’s first Michelin star, Adam said: “I’m overjoyed to have reached this milestone with my driven and dedicated team, who have worked so hard, and with such passion, since we launched the restaurant late last year.”
Adam loves to champion classic French cookery, believing it to be the base to all great dishes. He likes to take classical methods and put a modern twist on them to elevate them further.

Executive chef Adam Smith is engaged to Georgia Rose Turnbull. He got engaged during a trip to New York City, USA in 2023. He announced the engagement on Instagram, writing: “The perfect end to the most amazing trip,” alongside a photo of his wife-to-be showing off her stunning engagement ring.

Chef Adam Smith is a contestant on Series 19 of the Great British Menu, hosted by Andi Oliver. He is one of the four chefs competing for Central England with canapes, starters and fish dishes inspired by the Olympics and Paralympics in the regional heats, alongside Liam Nichols, Louisa Ellis and Sam Ashton-Booth. The central regional competitors will be battling it out for a place in finals week.
Coworth Park announced the news on Instagram, writing: “Coworth Park is thrilled to announce a culinary journey like no other with our talented chef Adam Smith! The countdown is on for Chef Adam’s debut on the BBC’s coveted Great British Menu, showcasing his skills in the regional competition.”
