Adam Partridge is an auctioneer and valuer. He regularly appears as an antiques expert and auctioneer on television shows including Flog It!, Bargain Hunt, Dickinson’s Real Deal and Cash In the Attic. He owns and runs his own chain of auction rooms in the North West with branches in Liverpool, Macclesfield and Altrincham.
As a child, Adam started attending auctions with his grandfather, who used to buy and sell violins. He was only 10 when he made his first bid at an auction, buying a little painting of a mill scene for £15 which he still has at home. At 17, he bought a van and started attending auctions. At 18 Adam went to Oxford University to study Classics but left after a year to join Criterion Auctioneers in Islington as a porter, from which point his career in the antiques industry began. He worked his way up to the position of Auctioneer, followed by a period at Chiswick Auctions and then on to the rest of the world when he became an Auctioneer on a cruise liner.
In 1998 Adam moved to Cheshire, joining Marshall’s in Knutsford, where he worked for the next decade as a Senior Valuer and Auctioneer. It was during this time that he became a regular fixture on television programmes such as Flog It!, Bargain Hunt, Dickinson’s Real Deal and Cash in the Attic, several of which he still appears on today, and is widely recognised as one of the country’s top antiques experts.
In 2008, he started Adam Partridge Auctioneers & Valuers, which has quickly become the top independent auction house in the North West. The company has grown rapidly to become one of the largest independent auction houses in the UK, with nationwide coverage via salerooms in Cheshire, Liverpool, London and Devon, and valuation offices in Altrincham, Lancashire and Torquay.
Adam is an antiques expert and auctioneer on BBC’s Flog It!, alongside Anita Manning, Mark Stacey, Caroline Hawley and Thomas Plant.
Other Interests
Born to professional musicians – his mum and dad were professional violinists, Adam has always had a passion for music, playing the violin and piano, and is an expert in a wide range of musical instruments from the 17th century up to the modern day. As well as this, he specialises in silver, ceramics and furniture.
Adam is also a qualified cricket coach and coaches children at a local club as well as supporting/sponsoring the youth cricket academy on the island of Dominica.
