Adalia Rose Williams was an American YouTuber, who lived with a rare genetic condition known as progeria. She began vlogging in 2012. The Texas-based teenager had over 2.9 million subscribers on YouTube, where she posted health updates, makeup videos, comedy skits, and videos featuring her family members.

Adalia Rose was diagnosed as a baby with Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome also known as the “Benjamin Button” disease, a rare genetic disease. According to researchers, progeria is caused by a mutation in a gene called LMNA which produces the Lamin A protein, used to hold the nucleus of a cell together. The average life expectancy for a child with progeria is 13 years old. The 15-year-old exceeded the average life expectancy for those with the condition.
The syndrome currently lacks a cure and causes rapid aging. In addition to premature aging, other symptoms include dwarfism, lack of body fat and muscle, loss of hair, visible veins, a high pitched voice and stiffness in joints. According to the Progeria Research Foundation, around 400 children worldwide are currently living with the disease.
Williams was diagnosed with Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome when she was about 3 months old, her mother, Natalia Pallante, told The New Zealand Herald in 2018: “When Adalia was born, I think it was she was like a month old and they weren’t happy with her growth. That was one of the symptoms that first popped up and then it was also that the skin on her tummy was really tight and just different looking.
“She was diagnosed at maybe like three months old. That’s when the real changes started happening. She started losing her hair and her little veins started showing up more and her skin started thinning out a lot more.
“I was a single mum at the time, so when I got the diagnosis I was alone. It was just her and I and I honestly felt lost.”

YouTuber Adalia Rose Williams died on January 12, 2022, at the age of 15 after battling with a rare genetic condition, according to posts on her Instagram and Facebook pages.
“January 12, 2022, at 7 pm Adalia Rose Williams was set free from this world. She came into it quietly and left quietly, but her life was far from it. She touched MILLIONS of people and left the biggest imprint in everyone that knew her. She is no longer in pain and is now dancing away to all the music she loves. I really wish this wasn’t our reality but unfortunately it is. We want to say thank you to everyone that loved and supported her. Thank you to all her doctors and nurses that worked for YEARS to keep her healthy. The family would now like to mourn this huge loss in private.”
