Abbie Ferris is an Australian country singer-songwriter and a contestant on Australian Idol 2025, judged by Marcia Hines, Kyle Sandilands, and Amy Shark. She was nominated Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2025 Countrytown Awards.
Abbie grew up on her family farm in Mallala, South Australia. Her father worked the sale yards and Abbie was on horseback by the time she could walk. Soon after, she fell in love with music, picked up a guitar and started honing her craft as a singer-songwriter.
She went on to release four singles to radio, including For A Moment in 2018, Beat You at Your Own Game in 2019, as well as Love Up On Me and Bad Boy Crush in 2020.
In 2024 Abbie had performances at festivals including CMC Rocks QLD and Groundwater. She broke onto the radio charts with ‘Shut Up and Kiss Me’ and followed it up with the acclaimed ‘You Don’t Live Here Anymore’ EP. She made the trip of a lifetime to Nashville, where she performed during CMA Fest and created the music that has defined her sound.
After kicking off 2025 with the massive KIX Live in the Park show at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, performing alongside James Johnston and Zac & George, Abbie flew back to Nashville for a marathon of writing and recording that will make it’s way to the public throughout 2025.
In February 2025, Abbie received a Breakthrough Artist of the Year nomination at the inaugural Countrytown Awards. The winners will be announced on the Countrytown website as well as at an exclusive lunchtime event for artists, industry and a select handful of readers to be held on March 20 in Brisbane.
