Tom Mairs, born Thomas Mairs, is a property entrepreneur and owner of the largest Beef-Gristle Mill in Europe. He is best known as the husband of Olympic hockey player Sam Quek and for his appearance on Channel 4’s The Secret Millionaire in 2010.
Tom attended Calday Grange Grammar School and is a graduate of the University of Liverpool. Whilst studying at University, he identified a gap in the student market for higher quality, hassle-free student accommodation. In 2008, Tom founded Antona Student Properties, a student housing business in Liverpool. The business was awarded CLASS accreditation in 2010 by Liverpool City Council for the safety and quality of the properties.
In 2013, Tom was honoured as an “Exceptional Graduate of the University of Liverpool” during a ceremony at the Chamber of Commerce in London. His nomination came as a result of his achievements in raising the quality of student accommodation and increasing the levels of student welfare in Liverpool.

He added: “And how well she is doing in the trials it’s just unbelievable but for me tonight and the way she performed was just an unbelievable highlight. I am just so so proud of her. The whole family were so so proud of the way she was.”
