Grant Goldman was an Australian radio and television personality and presenter. Grant began his broadcast career when he was just 14 years old and worked for numerous stations, including 2TM, 2GB, 2UE, 2WS, WSFM, 6PR, 2DAY, 3UZ and had two stints at 2SM, and more recently on Breakfast across the Super Radio Network.

His death was announced by radio station 2GB on Twitter. 2GB tweeted: “Some really sad news this morning…Radio great and long-time @SeaEagles ground announcer Grant Goldman has died, aged 69. The broadcaster passed away last night after a lengthy battle with cancer. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends.”

The Sea Eagles paid tribute to Goldman in a short statement on Twitter. The Sea Eagles said, “We were saddened to hear of the passing last night of iconic Sea Eagles ground announcer Grant Goldman after a lengthy battle with cancer. ?? Grant was our ground announcer for 35 years. Our deepest condolences to his family and colleagues at @2SM1269. Rest In Peace, Grant.”

Goldman was also the voice of Sydney Trains’ automated announcements during the 90’s and early 2000’s. Sydney Trains also paid tribute to Grant in a statement on Twitter. Sydney Trains wrote, “We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Grant Goldman, who was the voice of our automated announcements for more than a decade during the 90’s and early 2000’s. Millions of our customers grew up listening to his warm and reassuring tones at our stations and trains, and Grant’s voice can still be heard on the network for important safety announcements.”
